Pre-entry Support and Advice Group  

Aim: To provide a light pre-entry Programme in partnership with TLDTF and local based service St Dominic’s for clients to progress accessing Coolmine’s residential or Drug free day programme rehabilitation services

Goal: To provide clients with weekly planning, advice and support time in a supportive group and 1:2:1 environment to make informed choices about their future.

 Outcomes:

  • Referral to residential rehabilitation
  • Referral to day and community rehabilitation services (Coolmine or other)
  • Support client to further stabilize on medication regimes and move on with support
  • Support clients to access detoxification within a community or residential treatment environment

 Target Group:

  • those who are motivated to remaining drug free but fearful of treatment options available and stabilizing on prescribed/non prescribed medications and/or those on methadone maintenance motivated to access residential rehabilitation.
  • 12 participants in group at any time.
  • 2 staff members facilitating; 1 Coolmine & 1 St Dominic’s

 

Programme Content:

  • Weekly support groups- Friday morning and Tuesday afternoon
  • Support group is open with a focus on Relapse prevention and treatment options

 Case Management

  • Close links will need to be maintained with clients existing key workers wherever they are.
  • Weekly client case management review Friday mornings with Coolmine, St Dominic’s. TRP and Probation staff.

 Referrals:

  • Any Tallaght agency via St Dominic’s, Probation or TRP
  • You and your client can come up and see the Coolmine project.
  • Clients can decide if the project is what you want/need.
  • Waiting list of approximately one/two week for start date.
