Tallaght Drugs Education Initiative; Foróige are running the 2 day Putting the Pieces Together Training on Monday the 8th and Tuesday 9th April 2013 from 10am - 5pm in The Big Picture which is beside the Luas Stop at 'The Square'; Tallaght

The 'Putting the Pieces Together Training' is for staff or volunteers who are doing, or who have the potential to do, drug education work with groups or individuals in Tallaght.
The training will enable participants to work with young people, parents and other adults on the subject of drugs and alcohol according to best practice. It is supported and funded by Tallaght Drugs Task Force and free of charge. Each participant will be given the 'Putting the Pieces Together Manual' which includes all the information, activities and methods you need to run a drug education programme.

Please download and print this application form and send to Suzanne or Trish by the 21st March 2013 to book a place on the training. Our contact details are on the form. Places can fill up quickly so please book early.

Committee Skills Training

Julie Ui Chorrigain from Meitheal as our trainer for the above course as requested by various community reps and sub-group members of TDTF.

The course will take place over 5 Tuesday mornings, 10am – 1pm: 12th February, 26th February, 19th March, 26th March 2nd or 9th April (TBC)

Venue: Fettercairn Community & Youth Centre

The course will cover:
Working effectively as a committee
Methods that accord with the values of community development: empowerment, participation, equality
The role and responsibilities of committee members
The role and responsibility of the chairperson
Meetings: Planning, Agenda Decision making
Teamwork: Active listening Active participation Dealing with difficulties

Jadd's Positive Intervention Drug Free Programme

The Jadd Programme is due to start April 2013, we are recruiting at the moment, to start assessments. This programme has been designed as a positive intervention in skills for life, futher education and employment.

On completion of course participants receive a Fetac level 4 major award (equivelent to leaving cert standard). Credits from this major award go towards credits in all colleges.

Jadd originally ran this course in 2011 and we had great sucess at placing people in college, jobs and Government Sponsered Schemes (CE).

Anger Awareness Training Workshop

Anger Awareness Training Workshop to support practitioners facilitate anger awareness programmes relevant to their individual clients or group of clients.
